Imogene was born July 13,1931 in Posey, IL, daughter of Walter and Fannie Foster, nee Johnson. She grew up in the country where her love for animals began.
She married Lowell “Bob” Ketrow May 3,1952 in Montgomery, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son, Douglas Ketrow.
Surviving are her children, son, Walter “Kirby” (Tony) Ketrow, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, daughter, Diane Ketrow of Belleville, IL, son, Robert “Bob” (Becky) Ketrow of Lebanon, IL, daughter Tracy (Rodney) Quitmeyer of Trenton, IL and daughter in law Lisa Ketrow of Lebanon, IL. Grandchildren,

(Chad) Korte, Great grandkids, Bryson and Bryleigh Korte, Hudson and Beau Hamann, Aubrie and Mallorie Boeser, Josie Ketrow, Benton and Owen Ketrow.
A few years after they got married, Imogene and her husband were stationed in Morocco, Africa. She traveled by boat across the Atlantic Ocean for six days with their toddler Kirby, to meet her husband Bob.
While there, she gave birth to their daughter Diane. The four of them moved back to Illinois where they raised their family and had three more children, Bobby, Tracy and Douglas.
Imogene was a homemaker for most of her life, she always had a homemade dinner on the table for her family. Once her children got older, she worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital as a ward clerk for a few years. In the late 70’s Imogene and her husband opened the Kwick Stop convenient
store in Lebanon, IL. Her children worked alongside them at the store. It was a popular hangout for most of the town. Here they made new relationships and lasting friendships. Once her husband retired, the two
enjoyed traveling. They frequented Branson, visited Honolulu, Hawaii with their best friends and other various road trips to visit family in Ohio and the east coast.
After Imogene was widowed in 1994, she moved from Lebanon, IL to Trenton, IL to be close to her family.
Imogene loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They kept her young. She was so fortunate to have been able to see all of her grandchildren grow up and even see her great grandchildren grow up. She loved spending time with her family and making memories. Her love for animals showed from her childhood. She had numerous cats and dogs over the years that stole her heart.
Imogene loved to cook. A few of her specialties and her families were chicken and dumplings, homemade bread and cinnamon rolls.
She loved watching animal shows, cooking shows, and reality television shows towards the end of her life.
She lived on her own until the age of 89. Imogene then moved to Clinton Manor Nursing Home in New Baden, IL in April 2021. Imogene never wanted to be put in a nursing home, she didn't want to “be with those old people.” Little did she know this was the best thing for her and her family.
Here Imogene was spoiled by the nurses and staff. They loved her. They loved her sass and spunkiness. Most of the time she was a little ornery with them too. Her family is forever grateful for the amazing care that was given to Imogene while she was a resident at Clinton Manor.
Imogene’s wishes were to be cremated and buried with her husband at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date, as well as a celebration of life. She was well loved and be deeply missed.
Memorials may be made to Clinton County Humane Society or Alzheimer’s
Association. We will be honoring Imogene on October 1, 2022 by participating in the Walk to End ALZ, at SWIC in Belleville, IL
