Isabelle B. Chapman

Isabelle Beatrice, nee Caskey, Chapman, 86, of Red Bud, Il., formerly of Caseyville, Il., born November 25, 1923 in East St. Louis, Il., died on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 12:50 P.M. at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Ill.

Isabelle was a homemaker and a caretaker for her developmentally disabled daughter for 54 years. She enjoyed making/painting ceramics, crossword puzzles, reading romance novels and playing cards. Because of her English heritage, she always drank a cup of tea daily. She will be remembered for having a great sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Chapman on December 2, 1997, after 54 years of marriage; one daughter, Marsha Kay Chapman on April 6, 2008; her parents, Ray and Beatrice, nee Clifford, Caskey in 1927; her Dear Aunt Olive, nee Clifford, and Uncle Fred Hooper who raised her and her two siblings; two brothers, James Caskey and John Hooper; one sister, Rosemary, nee Caskey, Maggart; and seven brother and six sister-in-laws.

Surviving are her two sons, Ralph (Karla) Chapman of Red Bud, Il., and James (Linda) Chapman of Edwardsville, Il., three grandchildren, Shelby (Tim) Eaves of Arnold, MO., Dina Chapman of St. Louis, MO., and Loren Chapman of Waterloo, Il; one step-great-grandchild, Hannah Eaves of Arnold, MO., one sister, Thelma, nee Hooper, Thompson of Collinsville, Ill., two sister and brother-in-laws, Carol (Wayne) Simpson, Dixie Volluz both of Caseyville, Il., and Chris McDaniel of Marissa, Il., and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Hgts, Ill. No funeral services will be held.

Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Hgts, Ill.
