Jackie Ray Barclay, 89, of Belleville, passed away March 11, 2022. He was born on June 10, 1932 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Fred and Mary (Spears) Barclay and was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. Jackie was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Bertha Hawkins on January 17, 1963. Jackie was a lineman troubleshooter for Illinois Power before retiring. He had a passion for music and could play the piano by ear. Jackie also enjoyed playing tennis. He was a talented tennis player who won numerous titles and trophies. Jackie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan Barclay; granddaughter, Kami Barclay; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Rybicki and Mason Keller; sister, Roseann Nichols; brother, Glen “Buster” (Bonnie) Barclay; sister-in-law, Clara Barclay and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; wife, Bertha Barclay and brother, Hugh “Carmen” Barclay.
Private family interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens.
