

James W. Cooley, 96, of Brighton, IL, the son of the late George and Tennie Ethel, nee Lofton, Cooley passed away on July 20, 2017 at 9:19 pm at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy. He was one of five children hailing from the boot hills of Missouri and was born in Swift, MO.
James was a veteran that served in the army during World War II. Upon his return, James worked at Sea Pass Seafood Center in Missouri and then at the Colonial Bakery until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
Mr. Cooley is survived by a daughter, Gwinn Cooley; two sons, Terry (Sharon) Cooley and David (Sherri) Fraley; seven grandchildren, Chuck (Elma) DeProw, Jeffery DeProw, Lee Estes, April (Dan) Endicott, Jimmy Cooley, Beth (Kraig) Roth, JaeAnn Mazza; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation: Friends may call from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois, Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral: services will be held at 12:00 pm on July 24, 2017 at Lake View Funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens.
