James Edward Dalton Jr., 69, of Caseyville, Illinois passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024. He was born August 11, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri to James Edward Dalton Sr. and Dorothy Mae Tripp. He married the love of his life, Joy Smith, on May 8, 1972 in Marion, Arkansas. James was a passionate outdoorsman, spending much of his free time fishing and hunting. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving to cherish his memory include his wife, Joy Dalton; son, James (Lori) Dalton; daughter, Jennifer (Bill) Aegerter and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service for James will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 1:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208 with a visitation from 11:00am until time of service. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
