James H. Nelson

James received his Master’s in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He had worked for Laclede Steel in St. Louis, in the Transport Management Office. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working on cars. He also loved to talk politics and collect coins. He was a music buff who enjoyed Pink Floyd and he loved animals, especially dogs. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold L. and Sonia H., nee Anderson, Nelson; and two sisters, Barbara Ann Nelson and Carol Jean Martin.

Surviving are his loving wife, Linda J. Nelson, nee Moss, of Collinsville, Illinois; his children, Sherri (Shane) Farris, of Eldon, Missouri, Craig (Valerie) Nelson, of Valmeyer, Illinois, and Kristie (Dennis) Cherry, of Collinsville, Illinois; three grandchildren, Evan D. Wainwright, Jenna S. Cherry, and James C. Nelson; a brother-in-law, Leroy Martin; nieces, Karla (William Johnson) Martin and Kim (Steve) Horn; a great niece, Alexa Horn; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2015, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Butler officiating. Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
