Jean worked for Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Il, Sunset Hill Memorial in Edwardsville, Il, and Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Il.

Mrs. Spurlock is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Jean Gallagher, nee Spurlock; son John Spurlock; her parents Francis Turnbaugh and Madeline B. Walters; her grandparents Orville and Bessie Walters and Edward and Martha Turnbaugh; and her aunt Alice Marvel.

She is survived by her sister Beverly Keener of Edgewood, Maryland; granddaughters Melissa Spurlock and Leah(Jeff) Walker of Millstadt, Illinois; great grandchildren Lilly Barbeau and Blaise, Brooke, Seth, and Ethan Walker; cousin Mary Ellen Loflan of Delaware; Daughter in heart, Kimberly (Brian) Hollows; grandchildren in heart, Angie (Kevin Vander-Ven) Pyles and Amy and Ryan Hollows; and great grandchildren in heart Hope, Kevin Jr. and Skye Vanderven.
