Niece Cindy and Darron Johnson and daughters Erica And Alicia of Fargo, North Dakota; Nephew Tom and Stacy Nehrkorn and daughters Brittany and Natalie of Wildwood, Missouri; Niece Dawn and Jason Stapleton and children Tyler, Treavor and Brittney of Midlothian, Texas; Niece Shannon and Kit Saunders of Hillside, New Jersey; Nephew Sean and Heather Riley and sons Cory, Dylan and Sean of Flower Mound, Texas.
Jerry was retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation as a Surveyor. He enjoyed many things in life with the most frequent and fond memories being of his Cardinals baseball, bowling, photography and baking and if you knew him well you know he loved his Pepsi! He was two of his niece’s most favorite pen pal for as long as he could put pen to paper. Jerry loved his family and cherished spending time with them, as much as we cherished time spent with him. All our best memories include our weekly phone calls, his contagious laugh, his sense of humor, his playful demeanor, his silly side, occasional shenanigans and “ya know all that stuff”. There was nothing he would not try and could not do once he decided he was going to do it from chasing the girls and playing basketball as a youth to riding the mechanical bull, and embracing technology as a man. A “Riley boy” through and through. He was a great man with an incredible heart and a generous spirit. You could not ask for a better friend, Uncle, Brother, or Son. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
