

Jay was an avid and accomplished guitar player who enjoyed playing bluegrass. Mr. Brannon was a charter member of Metro Community Church in Edwardsville, Ill. He also enjoyed fishing and was a terrific story teller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvis and Ardath, née Morgan, Brannon; two brothers, Nolan and George Brannon; and a sister, Eva Leath.
Surviving are his wife of over 62 years, Jean Brannon, née Rood; a son, Jim (Christine) Brannon of Couer d'Alene, Idaho; a grandson, Adam Bruno of Seattle, Wash.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gladys and Don Boisseau of Shiloh, Ill., Harold and Fe Rood of Swansea, Ill., Carol and Harold Hess of O'Fallon, Ill., and Gayle and Allen Bell of Texas; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at Lake View Funeral Home, FairvieO'Fallons, Ill., with Pastor Paul Westbrook officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
