John Harry Covalesky

John was born March 1, 1963 in Belleville, IL to John Henry and JoAnn (Collins) Covalesky. He married Amy Bruce on January 29, 2014 in Belleville, IL. She survives and resides in Millstadt, IL.

Also surviving are his children, including daughter, Chelsea Callis of Pittsburgh, PA, step-children, Nicholas Rattini of St. Louis, MO, Isabella Rattini of St. Louis, MO and Daniel Lindemann of Millstadt, IL; grandchildren, Adilynn and Isaac Callis and Oliver Rattini; siblings, Linda Pfeffer of Ft. Myers, FL and Vicki (James) Dillard of Belleville, IL; nieces and nephews, Ray Pfeffer of New York City, NY, Eric (Jill) Pfeffer of Hamel, IL, Andrea (Tommy) Neely of Godfrey, IL, Jeremy (Monica) Pfeffer of Edwardsville, IL, Rick Onstott of St. Louis, MO, and Derek (fiancé Amber Schlottach) Onstott of St. Louis, MO; father and mother-in-law, George and Debra Sheff of Bunker Hill, IL; and numerous family, friends and extended family who will miss John dearly.

John was a true patriot, who served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the St. Clair Country Club and also a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt.

John owned and operated Action Mechanical Services for 30 years. He also loved to travel, entertain others in his home, ride his Goldwing motorcycles and shoot pool. Beyond those hobbies, his truest passion was playing golf. He and Amy traveled all over to play together on the most beautiful courses. He taught others his love of the game, including his step-son, Daniel. He will truly live on through his talents and knowledge he shared with others.

Above all else, John loved his family dearly. His vibrant spirit and love of life will be cherished forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Metro East Humane Society.

VISITATION: A visitation for John will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.

FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Marvin Volk officiating. Interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL, where full military honors will be rendered.
