John Louis Hamrick, 70, of Troy, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on June 28, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, John Jason Hamrick; his parents, William H. and Eloise M. nee Richter Hamrick; and his brother, William V. Hamrick.
John leaves behind those who will cherish his memory, including his loving sister, Alona Daudel; her sons Bryan, Jeffrey, and Andrew Daudel; his beloved granddaughters, Sophia Hamrick and Emelia Hamrick; and their grandmother, Jackie Buesking, who remained a treasured friend to John throughout. He also leaves behind many cherished friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, laughter, and companionship.
John was a simple man who found joy in life's everyday blessings. He treasured time with friends, never met a stranger, and enjoyed visiting and sharing stories about his childhood and family farm. His kind spirit, big heart, and easygoing nature made him a friend to many. John was renowned for his pig roasts, legendary events which many friends would come to enjoy.
John had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and provided lawn care for many years. He loved riding his motorcycle, fishing with his dad in Florida, and hosting bonfires.
A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, July 10th, 2026, at 12:30 PM. Family will gather at the funeral home prior to the procession to the graveside.
