

Joseph Edward Emmerich, age 73, of O'Fallon, Illinois passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Joe was born June 6, 1951, in East St. Louis, IL, to John William and Helen Mary “Asbury” Emmerich. He was one of nine children.
Joe met and married the love of his life, Deborah Ellen “Walker” Emmerich, and they were soulmates for 49 wonderful years until Deborah passed away in 2013. Together they raised four children, three sons and one daughter.
Joe worked at Peerless Premier as a press operator and retired after 31 years. He was also a member of International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, NTD Division. His favorite football team was the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite baseball team was the St. Louis Cardinals. Joe loved spending time with his family. He was a proud grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed!
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen; his loving wife Deborah; brother, John (Vicky Meyer) Emmerich; sisters, Jacqueline Curtis, Jean Taylor and Mary Carrigan; great granddaughter, Rylynn Wilson; Nephew, Patrick Calvin Curtis; sisters-in-law, Kim “Donahue” Emmerich, and Barb “Fischer” Emmerich.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Paul (Tyanna) Emmerich, of Collinsville, IL, Brian (Marsha) Emmerich, of O’Fallon, IL, and Christian (Anna) Emmerich, of O’Fallon, IL; one daughter, Bettina Emmerich (Rob Tomlin), of Caseyville, IL; siblings, James Emmerich, of WV, Thomas (Sheri) Emmerich, of Glenarm, IL, Angela (Patrick) Simmons of TX, and Patrick “Uncle Walt” Emmerich, of O’Fallon, IL; 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Joseph will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. A funeral service will occur at 2:00 PM with the committal to follow.
