Born on September 8, 1937, in Belleville, Illinois, Judy was a remarkable and elegant woman who always extended kindness to others. She especially loved arranging and re-arranging flowers, finding joy in creating the perfect floral display.
After graduating from Belleville High School, Judy began her career at Schickedanz Insurance Agency. She later married the love of her life, Milton “Smitty” Smith, and together they built a family filled with love. Once her children were grown, Judy returned to the workforce as an Administrative Assistant—first at Teal, Heller & Wentzel and later as Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer at Chromalloy in St. Louis, Missouri.
Judy enjoyed playing tennis and golf, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Dixon Smith; her daughter, Teddi Ann Smith; and her parents, Edward and Georgia (née Beuchel) Ziehnert.
She is survived by her son, Scott Dixon (Geoffrey) Smith; daughters, Kimberly Ann (James) Andritsos and GiGi Ann (Robert) Spory; and her beloved grandchildren, Teddie Ann Andritsos (Kyle) Brune, Christifer Dixon Andritsos, Robert Alex Spory, and Georgia Ann Spory. Also surviving is her sister, Kathleen Adele (née Ziehnert) Parker, along with her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Judy’s name to the Shelter Shop.
The family will host a private service at a later date.
