Julia M. McKenzie Gilliam

Mrs. Gilliam was retired from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, Illinois and attended church at the Chapel at Scott Air Force Base.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Gilliam Sr., parents, John and Anna, nee Bolling, McKenzie, a son, Henry L. Gilliam Jr., a brother, Sonny McKenzie, and three sisters, Virginia Walker, Patsy Kent, and Beatrice Jackson.

Surviving are her two daughters, Charlotte Gilliam of Belleville, Illinois and Eva (Rocklyn Jr.) Clarke of Boston, Massachusetts, two grandchildren, Sharon (Ricky) Grant and Rocklyn (Monique) Clarke III, three great grandchildren, Sariah Grant. Leah Grant, and Rocklyn Clarke IV, a brother, Charles McKenzie, three sisters, Clara Rodgers, Barbara McKenzie, and Eleanor Stanton, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Pettett Funeral Home, Murphysboro, Illinois. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Carbondale, Illinois.
