Kaye Arline Vargas

Kaye Arline Vargas, 81, of O’Fallon, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024. She was born August 20, 1942 in East St. Louis to Norvell and Genevieve (Edmonds) James. She married Michael Vargas October 25, 1969 in Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Surviving to cherish her memory include her husband, Michael Vargas; sons, Michael Vargas, Charles Vargas and M. Joseph Vargas; grandchildren, Krista Vargas; Kyle, Kasey and Lisbeth; great-grandchildren, Neaveh and Skylar; brother, Robert “Burt” James; sister, Linda (Marvin “Butch”) Overby and Hortensia "Tencha" (Larry) Haines; brother-in-law, Dennis Krupp; brother-in-law, Gonzalo "Lalo" Vargas; in-laws, Hortensia "Tencha" (Larry) Haines; dear friend, Marilyn Crook; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother and sister-in-law, Norvell “Pete” and June James; sister-in-laws, Mary Angela Krupp and Linda Vargas.

A funeral service for Kaye will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 6:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with visitation from 4:00pm until time of service. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 11, 2024 in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to BJC Hospice.
