Kevin D. Johnson

Kevin was born in East St. Louis, IL on December 15, 1950. He passed away peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2022. He is survived by his sister, Kayla Koerber (Myron), nephews; Jacob Koerber (Kelly), Matthew Koerber (Stephanie), great nieces Alexa, Emma and Clara Koerber, great nephews Brennan and Reid Koerber and step-brothers Terry Neubauer (Beth Laney) and Tim Neubauer (Jon). He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Mary (White) Johnson and stepmother Lorene (Matyka) Johnson.

Kevin was a resident at The Colonnade Senior Living Facility in O'Fallon, Illinois. He enjoyed playing Wii bowling, cards and bingo until failing health prevented him from participating in those activies. He was also one of their trivia kings and an Olympic word mine champ. He used to love to read and he loved music. The staff liked to walk by his room because he usually had music playing.

There are no words that can every express our family's gratitude for the exceptional care Kevin received from the staff at The Colonnade. When his time was drawing near they went above and beyond the call of duty. The staff always treated him with kindness, dignity and love

Kevin was an organ and tissue donor. His remains will be cremated and his ashes will become part of Neptune's Reef which is a man made reef off the coast of Key Biscayne, Fl. Services will be private.
