A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and respected member of the community, Kirvy was the beloved son of his father, Daniel Sloan, his mother, Eva Perkins and his stepmother, Juanita Rivers—all of whom played meaningful roles in his life. He was also a cherished brother to his sisters, Mathelma McDonald, Cora Sloan, and Venola Sloan, and his brother, Daniel C. Sloan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Kyung Do Sloan; his children, Mary Sloan, Kirvy Sloan Jr., Daniel Sloan, Bryan Sloan, Valerie Brodersen, and Steven Sloan. He also leaves behind many grandchildren—Samantha, Crystal, Kimberly, Chelsie, Bryan Jr., Marcus, Brianna, Leah, Kiara, Isabella, Benjamin, Reagan, Lincoln, Brandon, Ronnie, Sandy, Vanita, Angel, Florence, Armetrics, and Melissa—who brought him endless pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by two of his children, Monica Sloan and Kenneth Sloan, whose memories he carried in his heart every day.
Kirvy's life was defined by hard work, quiet strength, and an enduring devotion to his family. Over the years, he pursued three successful careers. He retired from McDonnell Douglas after many years of service, and later continued his professional journey as the Environmental Services Director at St. Mary’s Hospital. Kirvy was the owner, with his wife Kyung—co-founder of State Cleaners, a family-run business they built from the ground up with dedication and love.
Kirvy leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, humility, and love. His presence will be deeply missed but forever felt in the lives he touched and the family he nurtured.
A life well lived. A family well loved. Rest peacefully, Kirvy Sloan Sr.
