Larry worked almost 40 years for Laclede Gas / Spire. After retiring, he went on to work for POWRi because of his love for dirt track racing. Larry had a great sense of humor, never knew a stranger, loved his family and of course, racing.
Larry treasured spending time with Shannon, his wife of 15 years. They enjoyed traveling and finding off the beaten path diners and ice cream shops while riding their Indian motorcycles.
Auto racing is what he and his son Kurt bonded over the most. Kurt’s wife Jennifer and their children, Madison and Keaton will sorely miss their best racing buddy.
Even with his busy schedule, he always found time to make it to his grandkids, Fiona and Oscar’s sporting events with his daughter, Brittany and his son-n-law Mike.
Most importantly, Larry will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grand-father and friend.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marilyn Westerfield.
Surviving are his wife Shannon Westerfield; Son Kurt Westerfield (Jennifer); Daughter Brittany (Mike) Hornung; Daughter Karissa (Christopher Roles) Anderson. Grand-children; Madison, Keaton, Fiona and Oscar, his Aunt Charlotte Crider; cousins Julie (Tim) Kaiping and Lori (Kim) Crider.
There will be a private service for immediate family at Lake View Memorial Gardens and a celebration of life that will be announced at a later date.
