He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger K. and Jackie Ray Whitener.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years Margaret E. Whitener, nee Mulraney, whom he married on April 4, 1970, his mother, Lurene Whitener, nee White, his father T.C. Whitener, a brother, David L. (Mauni) Whitener of India, a sister, Brenda J. (Mike) Willard of Waterloo, Illinois, two sisters-in-law, Frances and Kay, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
