Lmay Schuerger, 90, of Highland, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023. She was born May 3, 1932 in Amagon, Arkansas to Samuel Thomas and Narrah (Brothers) Carter. She married Manford Foster, started a family and was a homemaker for many years. Later in life, after Manford’s passing in 1972, she remarried to Henry Schuerger. He preceded her in death in 1994. Lmay had a passion for gardening. She loved spending time outside in the sun, feeding and watching the birds. Lmay also enjoyed baking. Family, including her many beloved dogs throughout the years, was most important to her. She loved family visits and spending time with them. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her children, Robert Foster, Donna (Tim) Keilbach, Deanna (Joel) Knapp, Cynthia (Fernando) Munoz and Jennifer (Michael) Duff; grandchildren, Rozalynn, Jacob, Aubrey, Lesley, Megan, Matthew, Jarrod, Tracy, Heather, Jessica, Sophia, Courtney, Mikey, Jenna and numerous great-grandchildren. Lmay is preceded by her parents, husband, Manford Foster; husband, Henry Schuerger; daughter, Sandy Gossett; siblings, S.T. Carter, Roy Carter, Thelma Moor, Dortha Denham and Earl Carter.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 12:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with visitation from 10:00am until time of service. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to Partners for Pets.
