Lola Jean Cline

December 10, 1950 – February 20, 2026
Obituary of Lola Jean Cline
IN THE CARE OF

Lake View Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens

Lola Jean (Watts) Cline, age 75, landed softly in the fairways of heaven on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 6:32 p.m., with her loving family surrounding her.

Lola was born on Sunday, December 10, 1950, at St. Mary's Hospital in East St. Louis, IL, a daughter to Thomas "T.O." and Charlotte "Dolly" (Brown) Watts.

On September 15, 1967, she married a cowboy by the name of Alfred J. Cline, Sr., in Swansea, IL.

Lola wore many hats throughout her life, most of her career spent in finance. Lola proudly served as the Treasurer for the Village of Caseyville from 2017-2021; was involved with the Caseyville Fire Department Auxiliary; was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #1117, where she served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary; and was a member of the Caseyville Lions Club.

Lola coached softball and bowled in numerous leagues throughout the years. Lola loved to spend time outside, either working in her yard or playing golf. Her home was always filled with the smells of something delicious baking, and the laughs of the loved ones that were visiting.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. Lola loved cold winter days inside working on puzzles, and loved to spend Saturday nights singing karaoke at the V.

Surviving family includes her two children, Traci (Brian) Goodwin and Alfred "Skip" (Lisa) Cline; and two sisters, Diana Logan and Barbara Cole. She was lovingly known as "Mama" to 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was "Aunt Bert" to several nieces and nephews and known as "Bertha" to many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, T.O. and Dolly Watts; loving husband, Alfred; one brother, Thomas "Tommy" Watts; a niece, Laura Logan; and a nephew, Kenny Owen Logan.

Honoring her wishes, a private ceremony will be held for her family. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
