He was born on July 28, 1927 in Venice, IL the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Yaras) Glowacki.
Louis married the love of his life, Josephine Grill, on April 19, 1952 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in East St. Louis.
He served as a United States Merchant Marine and in the National Guard of St. Louis. He was a millwright for the American Can Company in St. Louis. He was an avid St. Louis sports fan, loving both Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball himself having been recruited to play minor league ball. Louis was a family man who loved spending time with his family from traveling all over the USA to joking around and dancing to Polka music. He lived a very healthy lifestyle. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his loving wife, Josephine, he is survived by four children Ann (Bill) House of Swansea, Marie (Steve) McClintock of Swansea, James Glowacki of Fairview Heights, and Robert (Lora) Glowacki of Waterloo; four grandchildren Lisa House, Makayla, Cole, and Drew Glowacki; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 11, 2018 from 12 pm until the time of memorial service at 2 pm at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, IL.
Inurnment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL
Memorials are suggested to Masses at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Caseyville.
