Malvern H. Kurtz, 85, born March 27, 1933 in Okawville, IL, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 in Swansea, IL.
Malvern was a proud United States Air Force veteran. In addition to his Air Force education, he earned an A.A.S. at Belleville Community College. He spent his career working as an electrical engineer for Western Electric and Emerson/ESCO Electronics and Space.
Malvern was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church where he served as the financial secretary. He was the treasurer of the Lake Lorraine Estates Association and a member of the Cardinal Nation.
Malvern is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Lydia (nee Tepe) Kurtz.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Betty (nee Roeckeman) Kurtz of Swansea, IL; brother, Hadley (Alice) Kurtz of Bradenton, FL.; sons, Russell (Sandra) Kurtz of Bettendorf, IA; Steve (Christi) Kurtz of Huntsville, AL; Daughter Linda nee Kurtz (Stuart) Leake of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren, Christopher (Laila) Kurtz of Springfield, IL; Timothy (Elizabeth) Kurtz of Winfield, IL; Nicole Piontek (Aaron) of Decatur, IL; Jeffrey Piontek of Elk Mount, WI; Mike (Abigail) Kurtz of Dayton, OH; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Lucas, Nora, Amy, Jonathon; as well as many distant relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Lake View Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 5600 Old Collinsville Rd, Fairview Heights, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church.
