Mrs. Hahn started her business career as the co-owner of her family business, Chase Moving Company in East St. Louis, Illinois. She then opened her next business, as co-owner, with her husband, Kenneth, the Rooster Health Food Store in Columbia, Illinois on February 10, 1995. They have successfully operated the store for the past 20 years with the philosophy of being a health advisor, not a health supplier. That mentality of being a helper, not a seller; has allowed her and the Hahn family to become a staple, not just in the small business world but in her community overall. She was a member of the C.R.O.W.N. (Columbia’s Resourceful Organization of Women Networking) group and the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, in infancy, Jessica Elizabeth Hahn and her parents, George and Josephine, nee Bailey, Chase.
Surviving are her loving husband of 51 years, Kenneth L. Hahn, of Columbia, Illinois; her children, Jennifer (Derek) Carr, of Waterloo, Illinois, Joelle Hahn, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Paul Hahn, of Waterloo, Illinois; her grandchildren, Bradley G. Hoffman, Summer L. Kolmer, Thomas J. Carr, Joseph C. Schaefer, Emma C. Schaefer, Samuel M. Hahn, Nicholas R. Hahn, and Grace R. Hahn; a brother, Ronald (Renda) Chase, of Columbia, Illinois; a sister, Barbara (James) Pace, of Waterloo, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, other family and community members, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Siteman Cancer Center, St. Louis, Missouri. Condolences may also be expressed online at www.lakeviewfuneralhm.com.
Funeral: Private family services will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois. A Celebration of Marcia’s life will be held and announced at a later date.
