

Mrs. Dyar was retired from teaching 4th grade, having spent most of her career with the Cahokia School District. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and a Master’s in Education from the University of Illinois. She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church in Caseyville, Illinois. She loved quilting, and was a member of the Hearts ‘n’ Hands Quilt Guild, and Harmony Quilters of Jennings County, Indiana. She also volunteered her quilting skills for P.S.O.P. She was a member of Harmony Express choral group, enjoyed playing her lap dulcimer and attending the Gateway Dulcimer Music Festival. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Augusta (nee Becker) Harrison; her loving husband, Paul E. Dyar; a granddaughter, Amy Pearson; and three brothers, Raymond, Roy, and Edward (Pete) Harrison.
Surviving are her son, David (Katherine) Dyar of Fairview Heights, Illinois; and daughters, Janice (Harlan) Harrell of North Vernon, Indiana, Marsha (Thomas) Pearson of St. Louis, Missouri, Laura (Rick) Fagan of Mascoutah, Illinois; Barbara (Elvis) Mattes of Greenville, Illinois; and Kathleen (Michael) Geries of Smithton, Illinois; four grandchildren, Erin Fagan, Rick (Jessica) Fagan, Jacob Mattes, and John Dyar; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
