

Marjorie went to school in East St. Louis. She was married to Gerald R. DeHart on April 13, 1957 at Edgemont Bible Church. To that union a son was born. She worked as a switchboard operator for AT&T from where she retired in 1986, after 34 years. After retirement, she returned to work as a switchboard operator for St. Elizabeth hospital of Belleville, IL for 10 years. She also returned to school in 1991 to obtain her GED.
Marjorie was a member of Eastern Star and Daughters of The Nile, Al Sihah Temple #29. She enjoyed cooking, baking Pies, quilting, going to auctions and visiting the casino from time to time.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Minnie Rongey; husband, Gerald R. DeHart; one sister, Ethel Servo; three brothers, Phillip Rongey Jr., Paul Rongey, Sr., and Samuel Rongey Sr.; nephew, Samuel Rongey Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Scott (Anna Maria) DeHart of Florida; nieces and nephews, John Servo, Carol Lorton, Paul Rongey, Jr., Lola Hamilton, Don Rongey, Robert Rongey, Diane Rongey, Phillip Rongey, Karen Boerhig, Sheryl Rongey and Michael Rongey.
A visitation for Marjorie will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Lake View Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Shriners Children's Hospital in Marjorie's name.
