

Mrs. Oliver was an avid reader and enjoyed tending to her flower beds. She was a daycare provider for over 40 years, taking great pride in staying in communication with “her” children, even as they entered into adulthood. She was a compassionate neighbor, who helped anyone in need. She also was actively involved with the neighborhood watch program in her area. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister; who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Mildred, nee Kramer, Counsell; and a sister, Marjorie Counsell, in infancy.
Surviving are her loving husband of 40 years, Kenneth N. Oliver, Jr., of Belleville, Ill., whom she married on St. Patrick’s Day, 1972; her children, Kenneth N. (Ashley) Oliver, III and Susan (David) Rodriguez; two grandchildren, Konnor and Maddison; four brothers, Robert Counsell, James Counsell, Thomas (Patricia) Counsell, and Dennis (Dolores) Counsell; an aunt, Helen Kramer; a special cousin, Frances Nanney; a friend Fred Hayes; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
