Maxine Merrick

Maxine was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Fairview Heights, Ill. She enjoyed traveling and loved her family and her church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be fondly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Eugene Merrick; her parents, Jesse and Martha Jane, nee Cooper, Sisk; two brothers, Freeman and Charles Sisk; as well as two sisters, Clara Hornback and Geraldean Ashby.

Surviving are two sons, Michael D. (Julie) Merrick of Lafayette, Colo., and David Randall (Kim) Merrick of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; a daughter, Donna (Jim) Brewer of Fairview Heights, Ill.; four grandchildren, J. Scott Brewer of Belleville, Ill., Michelle (Steve) Campbell of Florissant, Mo., Chelsea Merrick, and Peter Merrick, both of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Dillon Campbell; two brothers, J. E. Sisk and Jerry Sisk; a sister, Carrie Hornback; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her children shall rise up and call her blessed.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday June 8, 2010, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Fairview Heights, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at the church with the Rev. Dr. Steve Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
