Michael Sorge Gonzalez

Michael was a member of Catholic Church Our Lady-Ozark, Forsyth, MO., President of Rockaway Booster Club, Rockaway Beach, MO. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was extremely kind to everyone he met, he never knew a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all of his family including his numerous nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe & ILSE, nee Sorge, Gonzalez; and his two brothers, Raymond Gonzalez and Alfred Gonzalez.

Surviving are his loving wife of 33 years, Catherine, nee Smiley, Gonzalez of who he married on June 18, 1977; two brothers, Philipp K. (Anita) Gonzalez and David Charles (Maria) Gonzalez; and three sisters, Heidi (Peter) Velasquez, Doris (Rocky) Bennett and Diane Gonzalez; four brother-in-laws, and 2 sister-in-laws., and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to City of Hope, Los Angeles, CA.

Visitation: Friends may call from 12:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29, 2011 and a prayer service at 4:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill.

A visitation will also be held from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home with Monsignor James Blazine officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill. The family will have a memorial service in Rockaway Beach, MO., at a later date.
