It's been hard for me to come on here & write down a single memory or good time we had. All I've been able to think is, "How can I pick out a single memory that could tell Charlie how wonderful you were, or the relationship we had?" There's just no way I can put in a single post the good times we had together. Even though we had our faults with each other at times, you came together with me to give not just Charlie, but Audrie too, so many days where we could just have a fun "family" day, bringing happiness to the two kids that meant the most to both of us. And I love & respected & appreciated that more than I let you know & I'm sorry about that. But even typing this out now I can almost hear your laugh & your, "It's all good" that you'd tell me all the time. I can't write a single memory for Charlie, so I'm just going to write them all for him. & I can't wait to share each with him as he grows. It breaks my heart that you won't be here but you have been watching over Charlie all these years so I know without a doubt you'll continue now, just as his guardian angel. Thank you for giving me our baby boy, for loving the three of us, & for giving me so many happy memories that I not only I can hold on to, but share with this beautiful boy we made together.

Charlie,
Your dad and I started dating on my birthday. Three days later, he told me that he loved me for the first time. One month later, I met you and Michael told me he wanted us to get married and be a little family. On our first “family date,” Michael and I took you to Target to get a toy. Michael handed you a pair of sunglasses to put on and you danced for us in the cart. You ended it with a funny pose and made dad laugh so hard he wheezed. Meeting your dad was one of the greatest days of my life, but one of my absolute favorites was when you told your dad that you wanted him to marry me. Charlie, always know that your dad loved you more than anything in the world. More than guns, more than knives, and even more than me. You were his world, little man. You and Michael were, and forever will be, my world. I know Michael being gone hurts. And it will always hurt. But you will always have me. You will always have your grandparents. You will always have Uncle Chris and Emily. You will always have people that love you around to make the hurt go away. I love you like you’re my own son, Charmander. I will always be here when you need me.

Michael: “Who’s the best daddy in the whole world?”
Charlie: “You!”
Michael: “Who’s the best son in the whole world?”
Charlie: “Me!”

Michael, I love you more than most.

My heart is broken. I have known Mike since he was a young teen. Always kind and caring. He would bring his son by on occasion and you could see the love in his face. Prayers Mike and his family

Words can not express how sorry we are for Charlie and Michael's family and friends. This is such a tragedy. Michael was like a son to us, he was so kind. He was an amazing daddy to Charlie. He will be missed so much but not forgotten. Michael is Charlie's Angel👼 now and will live within Charlie. ❤
