Buddy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nell Hannon; his parents, James and Viola Hannon; and his brother, James Hannon.
He leaves behind his children, Jane Ritchie, Michelle Sweeney, Morris E. Hannon, Matthew Hannon, Robin Brider, and Brandy Mueller. Buddy was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He is also survived by his brother, Terry Hannon, and sister, Debbie Dicus, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A man of strong faith, he was devoted to God and proudly served his country as an Army veteran. He was known for his warm spirit, friendly nature, and the joy he found in everyday moments.
Buddy had a deep appreciation for the little things that brought happiness. One of his favorite things was Dr. Pepper, and he often referred to himself proudly as the “Dr. Pepper kid.” He also cherished time spent with his mom, Viola. The two of them would get on the phone and watch the Martin Lawrence Show together in real time, laughing and giggling throughout the episode. It became a weekly treat they both looked forward to. Buddy also enjoyed watching Law & Order, which was another one of his favorite shows.
Buddy loved sharing barbecue meals at Bandana’s, playing Bingo, enjoying poker and card games, and dancing whenever he could. He was also a big fan of Elvis Presley, whose music and movies often brought a smile to his face.
One of Buddy’s greatest pleasures was being outdoors, especially caring for his yard. He took particular pride in keeping his lawn neat and enjoyed the simple satisfaction of mowing the grass and spending time outside.
