

She was born on August 31, 1927 in Taylorville, Illinois to the parents of Leo Rusher and Mary A. Pearson.
Norma met her future husband, Lloyd Williams in Jacksonville, Illinois in 1947. They were married February 13, 1949 in the First United Presbyterian Church in Taylorville, Illinois and later moved to Springfield, Illinois.
She started her teaching career in the Springfield Public Schools. After relocating with her husband, she moved on to teach in Decatur, Illinois, Kirkwood, Missouri and retired from teaching for District #118 in Belleville, Illinois after 35 years.
Norma traveled and attended many Elderhostel (now called Road Scholar) programs here, in Canada and abroad. She loved to pay golf and bridge along with her husband and enjoyed crafts and gardening.
She served on the Pre-School Board at church, served as Deacon Usher, and was a member of the "Give a Meal a Month" committee.
Norma was a member of the The Helmsmen, Retired Teachers of St. Clair County, Salvation Army Auxiliary, a 40 year member of the Delta Kappa Gamma and supported the "Angel of Hope" at Bellevue Park here in Belleville. She was a 50 year member of the First United Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son; Kirk Williams, grandchildren; Ryan Lloyd (Amanda) Williams and Dana Williams.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sons; Eric Brent Williams and Brett Johnathan Williams and brother; "Bud" Otis Leon Rusher.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 4, 2022 from the Event Center of Lake View Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
Following the Celebration of Life, Mrs. Williams will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
