Peter attended Governor French Academy until 1991. He then went on to Christian Brothers University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in 1996. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Belleville, IL. Pete was a jack of all trades and carried many titles throughout his career. He spent time in the banking field, he was a dog trainer, and he was the caregiver for his mother and father in their later ages.
Peter married the love of his life, Lisa (Irvin) Newell, and to that union, two beautiful daughters were born. He had a passion for music, golf, dogs, trivia and sports. His favorite team was the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed history, game night, playing poker, watching old movies, taking his girls on adventures, and vacationing at the beach. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sue Newell.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Lisa; daughters, Adison, 12 and Emily, 10; sister, Lisa (Jim) Linnemeier of Belleville; many other loving family members and friends. We can’t leave out his three fur babies, Honey, Heidi and Bronco.
He is already greatly missed!
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Belleville Humane Society, Family Hospice of Belleville, IL or Heartlinks Grief Center of Belleville, IL.
A visitation for Peter will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM, following the visitation. A committal service will occur Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 10:45 AM, and Pete will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
