Phil, my cousin since birth.  I will always remember our times when the families would get together in East St Louis and continued on to nearby cities.  Phil and I always took care of each other. I am so sorry for your loss and the City of Fairview's loss....Phil was a very special friend to me. We all were so blessed with his dedication to volunteerism.  Without him on some occasions I would have been lost.  He was a large part of the help we needed for the Art Fair and many other events over the years.  He made sure everybody had water when the Optimist and 2000 other volunteers built the playground in Long Acre Park in 1996....also helped me and many others with little or big jobs at our personal homes....just an all-around wonderful guy!  He will truly be missed.

I only met Phil last year when we (Heather Kinny, Alicia Kirkland and myself Brenda Brandon-Blair) helped Jane Windsor work on the float for the Prince and Princess, on the Wednesday night before the parade.  Phil was also there when we worked the fair that Friday night. Phil was very nice and helpful to us.  He was a character.  I saw him on his bike that morning, but did not realize at the time that it was Phil.  The accident must have happened within minutes of me passing him on my way to work.  Jane has been so heartbroken over it.  We are so sorry for the city of Fairview Heights and Phil's Family's loss.  He was obviously a Treasure.

Phil was such a wonderful and one of the kindness person. My family and I met him at Longacre Park at least 20 years ago..always a wonderful full smile on his face, saying hi to everyone, enjoying whatever activity was going on and working away at what ever had to be done. It will be very sad being at an event at the park and not to see Phil. May he R.I.P. and may we  all look forward to seeing his wonderful smile in heaven.

He never met a person that he didn't consider to be a friend.  Phil was the epitome of "caring".  He was always willing to help his fellow man...  What a gracious soul.  Your Sunday smile, handshake and hug will be sorely missed.

Phil will be missed by all. Heaven will open up it's gates to the hardest working  volunteer ever! RIP Phil.

This is one of the finest men I had the pleasure of knowing. He knew everyone by their first name and always had smile on his face. I wish there were more people like Phil Lubeck in the world. He will be sorely missed. God Bless his soul.

The Donovan family from Grace Church will miss Phil with his sweet smile, warm heart and love for everyone he met. He was a sweet man and will be forever missed by many.

We are stunned and saddened by the news of Phil's passing. Our sympathy and prayers go out to his family and many, many friends. He was such a permanent figure in every community event throughout our area. He helped in every event I was apart of, and looked forward to each opportunity with such excitement.  He was a good man, a great volunteer and a dear friend. We will miss him greatly.

I've known Phil for quite a few years and have had the pleasure of doing volunteer work with him in various church activities. He always took joy in everything he did and he loved to serve. He was a good man and he will definitely be missed.

I have known Phil and his family for over 50 years.  Such a happy loveable guy. He always had a kind word for us when we saw him anywhere. He use to come and watch my son play ball at Longacre and we would reminisce about our brothers playing Khoury League ball together. God bless you Phil. Heaven can use your help.

Please accept my heart-felt condolences for your loss.  It's a loss shared by many in the Fairview Heights community.  In past years working as the Executive Director of the Fairview Heights Chamber, and also working with the Southwest Illinois Tourism Bureau, I saw Phil as an ever present force in the community.  Always, ready to lend a hand – he could be counted on to do anything anyone asked at any time.  A staple at civic events, Phil could be relied upon to bring a smile to everyone he came in contacts with.  His unconditional love for fellow human beings should shine as an example to all who have shared his company.  Thank you for sharing him with us.  He will be tremendously missed.

Phil and his father used to be our neighbors on Chateau. Phil would always hang out on the porch waiting for one of us to come home just to greet us and tell us about his day.  We really enjoy talking with Phil and he was always a big help if you needed anything.  We all are better people for having Phil in our lives.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

There was only one Phil and he touched your heart. I was so glad our family knew him. He always had a smile and loved doing anything for anyone. He will be missed dearly.

Phil was a nice guy and good friend.  Our sons Gary and Rob first met Phil years ago when playing baseball at  the Fairview Heights Park; probably over 30 years ago. Gary,Sr has taken Phil with him on bowling nights for over 15 years. The team loved having him there and shared many fun times. Our sons bowled on a league team with Phil years ago. When the guys couldn't get him to the bowling alley, I would take him and had many interesting (often funny) conversations. Our family will miss him terribly.

I first met Phil some 45 years ago at the Lansdowne Khoury League. I played baseball there against his brother Ricky.  Phil and his Father would be at the games.  They were a great family and Phil was "the heart" of the family that they all surrounded with their love.  I've seen him over the years and he never failed to acknowledge me.  We all could learn something about human kindness from Phil.  My condolences to his family and the Fairview community.

Buddy and Family, so sorry to hear about Phil. When we were back home last fall we saw him at Popeyes and he greeted us like we had never moved away. We got to sit and talk with him a little. Our prays are with you all.

Phil was such a wonderful person. He always had a smile on his face and would do anything he could to help you. He is going to be missed so much by so many. RIP my friend.

Phil will be missed by the entire Grace Church family. His joy in life was to serve God, his church, and his city. I count it a priviledge to have called him my friend and a real brother in christ.

My heart was deeply saddened when I heard the news. I have known Phil for over 40 years - he has always considered me his girlfriend. He would ride his bike as far as he had to in order to bring me a soda-that was his way of showing me he liked me. Hadn't seen Phil for years and ran into him at the Fairview Homecoming-he came right up to me and put his arm around me.... Phil-you better have that soda waiting for me when we meet again in heaven.... sadly missed by your old time girlfriend!!
