Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserves. He was retired from the Southwestern Bell and was an amateur radio operator using K9HOT since 1957. Richard enjoyed the simple things in life and was a kind and generous man.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter D. Gould, his mother Sally Ann Gould, nee Williams, and a step-mother, Dorothy Gould.
He is survived by many cousins; including Tom Hubbard, Walter (Diane) Hubbard, Sr. Mary Ellen Hubbard, Paul Raymond (Margie) Dudley, and Charles (Lou) Dudley, dear friends Mike and Nancy Kenney, and his faithful dog Mitsi.
Rich was a very humble man who touched many with his warmth, kindness and genuine concern for others. He loved bringing people together and found great joy in spending time with family and friends. In his quiet manner and with great love he took care of his parents when they could no longer care for themselves and in that same unselfish manner he cared for everyone he came in contact with. Rich was touched by simple acts of kindness. A quick phone call, an unexpected lunch, meant the world to him. He rejoiced in others' good fortune or success even more than his own. In his own way he was a man of many dimensions. He was extremely intelligent with a great sense of humor. He was gracious, and generous to a fault. He will be greatly missed by his dog Mitsi. And, for those of us he left behind, we are better because he touched our lives.
