Richard was a loving man who enjoyed gathering with his friends and neighbors in his backyard. He found great joy in gardening, woodworking in his shed, or simply being outdoors. His greatest accomplishments were his children and he loved them dearly. Richard was a longtime member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and worked for over 45 years at Super Value in Collinsville before retiring. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Vernon and Edna Mabel, nee Zobrist, Rutz; his loving wife, Constance E., nee Wrigley, Rutz; two sons, Jeffrey Rutz and Randall Rutz; two sisters, Violet Althardt and June Lee; five brothers-in-law, Norman Althardt, Al Huisman, Floyd Lee, Lawrence Bell and Dr. Mark Maschhoff.
Surviving is his son, Glenn (Robin) Rutz; his grandson, Richard Rutz; three sisters, Vivian Huisman, Geraldine Bell and Patricia Maschhoff; and his wonderful caregiver and devoted family friend for many years, Marie Wilson.
