Robert Lee Williams, age 63, passed away on October 30, 2026. Born on February 14, 1963, Robert was a resident of Fairview Heights, Illinois. He will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who had the privilege to know him.
Robert’s life was shaped early by a steady spirit and quiet courage. As a young man, he found joy in riding his motorbike, carrying with him a sense of independence and resolve that would remain present throughout his years. He attended Cahokia High School and later graduated from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville with a degree in Graphic Design—an achievement that reflected both his diligence and his thoughtful attention to detail.
A hard-working man in every sense, Robert built his career through dependable service and daily commitment. He worked for Allied Universal Security Services and also worked for Bi state development metro. Those who worked alongside him knew him as honest and steadfast—someone who valued responsibility and took pride in doing things the right way, without shortcuts and without pretense.
Robert was devoted to his loving wife, Anne, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage. He was the father of the late Sally Williams, a loss carried with enduring love. He was preceded in death by both his mother, Lillie and father, Robert Sr. Robert’s loyalty to family extended far beyond titles; he loved his family deeply, including a host of nieces and nephews—becoming like a father to some and a big brother to others, offering steady guidance, patience, and a generosity that asked for nothing in return.
Beloved son in law to the late Francis and late Christine Rhoda Karani of Kitale, Kenya. Beloved brother-in-law to Rose, David, Mike, Liz, and Sarah. Uncle to Portia, Isabel, Cecil, Cheptoo, Tata, and many more.
Brother to MaryAnn Luster, and JoAnne Williams, cousin to Sheryl Pruitt, and Wendy Williams, and many more. Beloved uncle Sonia Luster, Monica, Drake, and many more.
In quieter moments, Robert found meaning in photography, approaching it with the same care and intention that marked so much of his life. He also loved animals, especially dogs, and his gentle nature showed clearly in the way he valued and protected the lives entrusted to him.
Those closest to Robert knew a man who was consistently present—someone others could rely on without hesitation. He was punctual in all things, resilient through life’s demands, and selfless in the ways that matter most: showing up, standing firm, and doing what needed to be done. Though he was often serious and did not play around, he was also remembered for the warmth that broke through in unforgettable moments—especially the hearty laugh that came from his soul.
The family wishes to express thanks to all those who have reached out with kind words or gestures, especially Thomas and Eartha Brown. Memorial donations can be made to his wife, Anne Williams.
Robert’s life leaves a legacy of faithfulness, strength, and compassion—an example of what it means to live with purpose, to love with steadiness, and to be cherished for the goodness given so freely to others.
A special thank you goes out to Jim Schmersahl and the entire Schmersahl Treloar and Company.
