Romaine was also preceded in death by her sisters Blanche Bond and Pauline E. Mish; her brothers Floyd, Edward, Walter and Jerald Krakowski; and her dear friend Elizabeth (Betty) Raleigh.
Surviving Romaine are her sister-in-law Elizabeth G. (Jerald) Krakowski of Jupiter, Florida; her nephews Michael Krakowski of Jupiter, Florida and Randall Krakowski of Bay City, Michigan; her nieces Shelby (Krakowski) Clark of Summerfield, North Carolina; Melanie Krakowski of Charlotte, North Carolina; Maureen Mish of Belleville, Illinois and many grand nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her friends Stephanie McFadden, Linda Biermann, Marilyn Neumeyer, Peggy Murphy and Heidi Dodd for their kindness and loving support.
Romaine spent the first 30 years of her life in Bay City, Michigan, after which she attended Barnes Hospital School of Anesthesia in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1966 she moved to Belleville, Illinois where she worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital as a nurse anesthetist until her retirement. Romaine enjoyed traveling, gardening and woodworking. She was a member of The Cathedral of Saint Peter in Belleville, Illinois and also the Belleville Holzchnitzers.
Memorial Gathering is from 12:00pm-1:00pm on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 13 ,2021 at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, Illinois with Rev. Monsignor John T. Myler of The Cathedral of Saint Peter officiating.
Inurnment will be private and will take place at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
