Ronald J. Hurst

Ron was the owner/operator of Hurst & Son Excavating and Landscaping, in Belleville, for the past 7 years. He loved music; playing bass guitar in many cover band over the years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and watching all sports, especially football. He always considered his son, Malcolm, to be his best accomplishment and being a father was his biggest reward. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, and step-sister, Tracey Klug.

Surviving are his loving wife, Tracy J. Hurst, of Swansea, Illinois; his son, Malcom, G. Hurst, of Swansea, Ill.; father, Jerry (Nancy) Hurst, of Belleville, Illinois; mother, Rosemary (John) McAllister, of Belleville, Illinois; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Kehrer, of Swansea, Illinois; a brother, Kenny (Kathy) Hurst, O’Fallon, Illinois; two sisters, Rebecca McAllister and Suzanne Hurst, both of Belleville, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
