Sandra Schneider

She was born on September 6, 1947 in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Charles Presley and Margaret Frances (Bonds) Tillman.

Sandra married JR Schneider in Belleville. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2014. She was known as the family matriarch, who took care of everyone in the family from children to grandchildren to whoever came into her presence. She adored spending as much time as she could with and any and all of her family, especially her grandchildren. In the family she was known for always cooking all of the holiday meals, chicken and dumplings being her specialty. She also enjoyed spending time making jewelry and floral arrangements. When she would go on vacation to Florida she would love taking walks on the beach and taking in the views of the ocean.

She is survived by two children and their spouses, Frank and Amber Schneider, Gina Ciaramitaro and Bobby Bauer; seven grandchildren Carson and Peyton Schneider, Tommy and Katie Bauer, Brandon, Cody and Shelby Tillman; one great granddaughter Kimmie Tillman; three sisters Alice and her husband Tom Parris, Peggy Warentbe and JoAnn Simmons; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Billy Tillman; 9 siblings Elvis Jimes, Donald Jimes, Claudette “Tooter” Swain, Bill Tillman, Shirley McCalister, James Tillman, Florence “Mickey” Reeves, Geraldine “Geri” Little and Robert Tillman.

Visitation will be held from 4 pm until the time of funeral service at 7 pm Friday, March 30, 2018 at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights.

Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded and will follow services.
