

Sandy attended Marquette High School and graduated in the class of 1956. She married Francis “Butch” G. Vacca and had three children. She later began her career working for the Unit 10 School District at Dorris Elementary School as Secretary to the principal.
She was a proud member of Music Makers, Kappa Pi Social Sorority, and the Red Hat Society. She had a passion for singing, music, camping and traveling. She also enjoyed a weekly card club with dear friends playing Canasta and Pinnacle.
Sandy will be fondly remembered for her talent in ceramics, toll painting, decorating, her love of the holidays (especially Christmas), and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded death by her loving husband Francis “Butch” G. Vacca; parents George Hoehn, Geneve, nee Narup, Hoehn; sisters Carole, nee Hoehn, Vitale of St. Louis, MO, and Judith, nee Hoehn, Benecke of Shreveport, LA.
Surviving are her children, Brad (Terry) Vacca of Kampsville, IL, Shelly (Jim), nee Vacca, Welch of St. Charles, MO, Tony Vacca of Austin, TX; six grandchildren, Benjamin (Natalie) Vacca, Jeremy (Stephanie) Vacca, Chad Welch (Jackie Powers), Alexa (Grant) nee Welch, Warmoth, Bradley Welch, Chase Welch; ten great grandchildren, Gracie, J.D., Elle, Ty, London, Amelia, Blakely, Palmer, Emmett, and Miles.
Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Saints. Peter & Paul Church at 207 Vandalia Street, Collinsville, IL., followed by a Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. with inurnment to will follow at Saints. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Collinsville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
