Sylvester Cornell Hamilton, was born September 13, 1983, in St Louis, MO to the union of Sylvester and Traci Hamilton. Sylvester departed this life on August 18, 2018. Sylvester attended Bishop Healy Catholic School, where he played basketball and baseball. He later graduated from Soldan International Studies High School, where he was an avid and talented football player and a member of the school’s band. At Soldan he met many friends throughout his four years that became family. He also attended Florissant Valley Community College where he met his best friend, Ooops. Sylvester possessed a keen work ethic and was able to share that work ethic in various positions. He worked at USPS for 8 years, at General Motors where he put front ends on trucks, ADM, and was currently employed with Maurice’s Construction. He also spent time as a manager at Jay’s Gumbo.
He was a true joy to be around with a loving personality. To know Sylvester or “Ross” was to love him. He was kind hearted, dedicated, and protective over his family. Family was everything to him and he displayed that every day through his actions. His most precious memories were those spent with his loved ones, especially his son, Sylar. He was a loving father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He is truly unforgettable and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Rosie Hamilton, and special cousins: Milt, Cepada, and Art.
Surviving to cherish memories are his son, Sylar Cornell Hamilton, children that he loved as his own: Brandon, Khylen, and Karter, his loving parents: Traci and Sylvester Hamilton, brother, Mike (Amber) Hamilton, the love of his life and mother of his child, Kelly Howell, his grandmother, Valerie Tennon, step-father, Albert James, other siblings: Chrishell James, Romel (Maggie) Clark, A’alijah James, Joseph (Natalie), Marissa, Jessica, Jordan, and Justin Killen, special life-long bestfriends, Bruce “Ooops” Franks Jr., Christopher Buckner, Courtney Thorp, Ronell Day, and Ahmad Rashaad, and a host of dear nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit from 10 am until 12 pm, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Union Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 1141 Belt Ave, St Louis MO.
Funeral Services will begin immediately following visitation at 12 pm. Interment to take place at Oakdale Cemetery, St Louis MO.
