Theresa Mary Benson

Theresa was a long time member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Shiloh, Ill., where there she was a member of the Jolly Seniors. She worked for many years in Civil Service Personnel at Scott Air Force Base. Member of the Shiloh Democratic Club for many years and was in charge of bingo at Shiloh Park, Shiloh, Ill. She loved going to the Casino and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin J. Benson; her parents, Bernard Herman & Theresa Ann, nee Baahlmann, Schomaker; her siblings, Loretta (Ed) Hodel, Robert (Mildred) Schomaker, Bernard Schomaker and Elsie (Wes) Little., a nephew Michael Little., and a sister-in-law, Lois Schomaker.

Surviving are her two daughters, Kristi J. (Michael) Pope of Woodridge, Ill., and Kimberly T. Benson of Shiloh, Ill., three grandchildren, Alan O’Brien, Shelby O’Brien both of Woodridge, Ill., and Venna Benson of Shiloh, Ill., a brother, Daniel Schomaker of Shiloh, Ill., a sister, Esther (Robert “Pete”) Riedel of Shiloh, Ill., and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Schomaker of MO., and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service: A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 206 Rasp St., O’Fallon, Ill., 62269 with Father Jim Margason officiating.

Private burial will be held in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.

Upon Theresa’s request, cremation was to be held.
