
Thomas Francis Sell, born on September 22, 1953, passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 72. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janine “Jane,” and his parents, Willard and Doris (Murray) Sell.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are his son, Matthew Sell; his grandchildren, Rhiannon, Thomas, Anja Sell, and Madison Rickert; and his great-grandson, Isiah Clay. Thomas also leaves behind his brothers, Lawrence and Ronald Sell. Thomas was an uncle, a cousin, and a friend.
Thomas was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He served his country honorably and carried that pride throughout his life. He was also a longtime member of the NRA and held strong respect for tradition, responsibility, and the freedoms he believed in. He had an adventurous spirit and a genuine love for travel. He especially enjoyed cruising and finding joy in new destinations with his beloved, Jane.
A devoted history enthusiast, he had a particular passion for the Civil War and Native American eras, often visiting museums and historical sites with his grandchildren.
A lifelong and unwavering fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Thomas never missed an opportunity to cheer on his team. Game days were cherished traditions, filled with excitement, loyalty, and pride in his team.
Above all else, Thomas treasured his family. He loved his son and grandchildren, where he found his greatest happiness in time spent together, sharing meals, laughter, and making memories. He will be remembered for his strong spirit, his love of learning, his service to his country, and the warmth he shared with family and friends.
Thomas will proudly be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri, where he will receive full military honors.
