Todd Jeffrey Carlock, 48, of Trenton, IL, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Todd was born May 10, 1972 in Kankakee, IL to Amon Paul Jr. and Linda (Postin) Carlock. He was preceded in death by his father, Amon; paternal grandparents, Amon Paul Carlock Sr. and Dolores Gwin; maternal grandparents, Joseph Postin and Wilma Postin; Uncle Frank Postin; and Aunts Cathy Postin and Celeste Gwin.

Todd is survived by his mother, Linda Carlock; sister, Amber (Aaron) Jones; niece, Brianna Jones; bonus Mom, Carol Chainey; fiancée, Michelle Hoekstra; his sweetie, Hayden and his Labrador son, Colt; two aunts and five uncles; eleven cousins and way too many friends to count.

Todd was a skilled welder at Eaton Corporation for many years. He could line dance, ride bulls and was a huge fan of the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals.

Todd was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a great love for the outdoors, camo, and Duck Dynasty. You would always count on a listening ear, a piece of good advice, a big smile, a hearty laugh and a warm big brother bear hug from him. He loved his God, his family, his fiancé, Michelle, his fur son, Colt and his many friends with everything he had. He was a big brother, uncle and son to many.

The family would like to encourage anyone who wants to wear camouflage in remembrance of Todd to do so.

Todd and I helped each other finish a baseball card set several years ago, thanks to his cousin, Glen, telling each of us that the other was buying those particular cards. He was always a part of his cousin's lives and I know Glen considered him a brother. Rest in Peace Todd. You will be as well loved in Heaven as you were here.

I remember when we were driving across Kansas, in the heat of the summer. Todd had his hamster in the back of the station wagon. Todd said his hamster was dead but his mother and I tried to tell him No he’s just sleeping. Todd picked up his hamster, who was in rigor mortis, and shoved it in our faces and said” does this look like he’s just sleeping?” Needless to say we had a funeral at a gas station!

I have known Todd for a long time, and have many memories of him when we were teenagers at church camp and at Keith and Wilma Jo's. You will be missed Todd. My heart goes out to the family. You have my deepest condolences.
