Thomas who went by “Tom” to his family and friends possessed a charismatic and comedic personality. He was a true rocker by nature and heart. He married the love of his life, in May of 1970, Joyce Price and to this beautiful union brought 2 daughters, Elizabeth and Jennifer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Tom worked as a General foreman of the foundry for Cerro Copper, for almost 35 years until his retirement. He was an avid sports fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and St Louis Blues. He also enjoyed watching and playing golf, being a member of a bowling league, listening to the KSHE 95 radio station in St Louis, and gardening. He was a loving dad, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Joyce (nee Price) Pope, his father, Joseph Aubrey Pope, and his brother, Lawrence Joseph Pope.
Surviving to cherish memories are his loving daughters; Elizabeth Pope (Aaron Lensing), and Jen Pope (Alicia Biby), his mother, Emily (nee Cygan) Pope, his sisters; Margaret Pope, Virginia (Jeff) Devenport, Frances (Steve) Stoltz, and Catherine (Gary) Mueller, his sister-in-law, Sharon Pope, his dear nieces and nephews, Lara (Jason) Griffin, Joseph (Amanda) Pope, Veronica Pope, Chrissy (Keith) Immken, Michael French, Adrienne French (Charles Teal), Emily (Doug) Spitz, Christine Mueller (Mike Koletsos), Adam (Katie) Devenport, Dan Devenport, Trevor Stoltz (Jessica Stettler), and Greg Mueller, 11 great nieces and nephews, his furry companion, Marley and a number of dear relatives and friends.
The family of Mr. Pope would like to send a heartfelt thanks to the Emergency Room Staff at Touchette Regional Hospital, for their kindness, assertiveness, and professionalism.
