

The youngest of seven, Tommy was born on February 6, 1945, in Sayre, Oklahoma, to Johnnie Jason Jackson and Catherine Elizabeth Jackson (nee Martin).
After graduating high school, Tommy enlisted into the Army Reserves and served two years.
The proudest career accomplishment of Tommy was making Foreman at American Steel Foundry. He was a man who “worked hard” and “loved harder”; and took any means necessary to provide for his family.
Tommy was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching college football and baseball.
The proudest family moments of Tommy were watching his sons grow up to be “fine men” and start their own families. He truly loved his family!
Tommy’s grandchildren made him laugh, as did watching comedy, namely, the Jeff Dunham Stand-up Shows. He liked western and wartime movies.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Catherine Jackson; wife: Barbara J. Jackson (nee Boycourt); son: John I. Jackson; siblings: Leon Jackson, Jason Lee Jackson, Ramona Bradley, Genon DeVaney, and Lois Bright.
Tommy is survived by his sons: Thomas W. Jackson (Laurie) of Granite City, Illinois, David L. Jackson of Madison, Illinois, and Terry D. Jackson (Kimber) of Granite City, Illinois; sister: Patricia Rowell of Pampa, Texas; grandchildren: step-granddaughter, LeAnne McKeal, Stephen Jackson, Jordan Jackson-Wilburn (Kason), and BreAnna Jackson; great-grandson: Blake Jackson; step-great-grandchildren: Aaron McKeal and Lauren McKeal; niece: Tina Hammer of South Carolina; nephew: Ron Bright (Cindy) of Fairview Heights, Illinois; along with many other nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Tommy will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 10:30am – 12:00pm at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm, followed by the committal at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
