Willa Marie Jung

Willa Marie Jung, nee Holliday, 100, of O’Fallon, Ill., born October 21, 1910 in O’Fallon, Ill., died on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Hospice of Southern Illinois Relais Bonne Eau Community Hospice Home, Edwardsville, Ill.

Mrs. Jung was a current member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Belleville, Ill., and a lifelong member of the E & K Church of Christ. She retired after 22 years of service from Freeburg Grade School Lunch Program. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, bingo and loved to read. Willa was the daughter of the late William & Lucy, nee Deppe, Holliday, for which the William Holliday School in Fairview Heights is named.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Edward Buecher and her second husband, Norman Jung; her three brothers, Leroy (Edith) Holliday, Harvey Holliday and Burnell Holliday; and three sisters, Ruby (Carl) Mayer, Leona (Irvin) Schneider and Beulah Holliday in infancy.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Kay (Jack) Cunningham of O’Fallon, Ill., Grandchildren, Jeffrey (April) Eschenfelder of Plant City, FL., Eric S. (Christine) Werner of Belleville, Ill., Brian D. (Marie) Werner of Belleville, Ill., Christopher D. (Carrie) Werner of Garland, Tx., and Joy (Mark) Wilcox of Marion, Ill.,

Great-Grandchildren,Lcpl Jason (Cortney) Eschenfelder., Amber Eschenfelder, Amy Eschenfelder, Matthew Werner, Garrett Werner, Elane Werner, Aysia Werner, Tyler Wilcox, Aidden Wilcox and Natalia Werner., and three step-sons, Wayne (Carol) Jung of Fenton, Mo., Norman Jung of Owensville, MO., and Dale (Donna) Jung of Orlando, Fl., and dear friend and sister-in-law, Wilma Holliday and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois Relais Bonne Eau Community Hospice Home, Edwardsville, Ill., or to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home with Willa’s Grandson, Pastor Christopher Werner officiating. Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
