

He was born in East Saint Louis, Illinois on September 23, 1945 to the parents of William Russell Gammon Sr. and Connie LaFonte.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
After serving in the Vietnam War, William became an Electrician for the Local 309 and retired.
William loved spending time with his family and playing pool.
He enjoyed many hobbies that included Golf (Fox Creek), Sports Cars, Motorcycles and Building Sheds.
The most important thing in William’s life was his family. He loved spending every minute with them and making wonderful memories that will live on in for years to come.
William is survived by his loving wife; Julie (nee Niemaczek) Gammon, Son and Daughter in Law; Greg and Lindsey Gammon, Granddaughters; Avery, Emilia and Charlotte, Brother; Charles T Gammon, Sister; Betty Ann Gammon, Brother and Sister-in-Law; Paul and Brenda Niemaczek, Several Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held from the Event Center of Lake View Funeral Home at 12:00 PM., Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the hour of service on Tuesday.
Following the service, full military honors will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens where Mr. Gammon will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Partners for Pets or Saint Louis Zoo.
The family is being served by Lake View Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
