

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Daisy (Barnett) Hewkin, her husband of nearly 45 years, Fay “Les” Lasley, her daughters Lynette Diane Koch and Deborah “Debbie” Marie Bartlett, her son Roy Koch and her twin sister Marie E. Hewkin in infancy.
Surviving are her children, Linda Briggs of Tigard, Oregon, Debbie (Bill) Rogge of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Brian (Janey) Lasley of Little Rock, Arkansas, Robena “Beanie” (Terry) Keck of Freeburg, IL, her son in law David Bartlett of Belleville, Illinois. Also surviving is her sister Frances “Franny” (Don) Taylor of St. Augustine Beach, Florida, her niece and nephew, Jeff and Tracey and her two nephews that she thought of as her own, John and Fred Koch.
During her life she was a Civil Servant working as a systems analyst at Scott AFB. After retiring from Civil Service, she went on to work with her husband, Les, at Scott Credit Union for 22 years before she fully retired.
She had 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren with another one on the way. Her love for babies made these grandchildren the treasures of her life.
She loved going on cruises. What she was known for the most was her crochet creations. She made many beautiful blankets for all of her loved ones and friends as well as outfits for the babies. Nothing compared to her love for the grandchildren. She loved the babies and the children. They brought so much joy to her life.
The visitation will be held from 10:00 am-12:00 am. Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Funeral following at 12:00 noon with Beanie Keck presiding at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208.
A short graveside service will follow the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life Church Metro East where she attended for many years or to Kids for Christ that ministers to children.
